Dentures & Partials- Ashland, OR
Enjoy Your Smile Again
If you have one or more missing teeth, then you likely think about them at least a few times a day. You have to put all this extra thought into eating and speaking, and if you’re like many of our patients, smiling seems pretty much impossible. At Premier Care Dental, we know the mental and physical effects of missing teeth can be truly devastating, which is why we’re happy to provide custom-made full and partial dentures in Ashland. No matter how many teeth you are missing, we can design a prosthetic with the perfect look and fit for you, helping you regain your bite and confidence all at once.
The Types of Dentures We Offer
Modern-day dentures consist of ceramic teeth attached to a base that is designed to resemble gum tissue, and these elements work together to create a natural appearance that can blend into any smile. Depending on your particular situation, we can provide you with one of the following kinds of dentures:
These are designed to replace multiple teeth missing along a single row where healthy teeth still remain. They fit into the mouth like a piece of a puzzle using small metal clasps that loop around neighboring teeth and provide stability.
This denture is able to restore an entire arch of teeth at the same time and sits directly on the gum tissue. It stays in place thanks to natural suction and/or a little bit of denture adhesive.
These look just like regular dentures above the gum line, but below, it’s a different story. They are held in place with multiple dental implants that are anchored directly into the jawbone just like tooth roots. They provide the best fit and security by far.
The Benefits of Dentures
- Appearance: With dentures, a patient can stop worrying about friends and family members seeing their missing teeth and just smile whenever the mood strikes them.
- Diet: Missing teeth often force a person to have a dull and easy to chew diet, but with dentures, a patient can easily start enjoying their favorites again.
- Overall Health: Malnutrition is a very common problem for people with missing teeth, but with dentures, a patient can eat the nutritious vegetables and cooked meats necessary for sustained health.
- Pain Relief: When teeth are missing, the remaining ones usually have to work extra hard while chewing, which can cause pain in the teeth and gums as well as additional wear and tear. Dentures can help even out the bite as soon as they are put on, providing a pain-free and comfortable smile.
The Denture Procedure
Every denture patient first undergoes a comprehensive oral exam where their dentist in Ashland will look at their remaining teeth as well as the alignment of their jaws. We may need to remove any damaged or decayed teeth to make room for a new denture, but once a patient’s mouth is ready, we will take an impression of their bite. This will be used to actually design the denture. A patient will try on multiple mock-ups to find the ideal look and fit, and once we’ve achieved the perfect balance, the final mock-up will be used to cast the permanent denture.
